Kelly Jensen writes nonfiction for teens, focusing on real life issues that directly impact them — and upon which they can make a direct impact, too. She is the editor and author of three critically-acclaimed, award-winning anthologies for young adults: HERE WE ARE: FEMINISM FOR THE REAL WORLD; (DON’T) CALL ME CRAZY; and BODY TALK. Kelly currently works in digital media, including as a writer and editor for BOOK RIOT and blogger at STACKED, following a career in libraries. She was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2024, a Publisher’s Weekly Person of the Year in 2022, and a Chicagoan of the Year by the Chicago Tribune in 2022. Kelly currently lives outside Chicago with her family. She is co-president of a local senior pet rescue associate board, is part of her local library’s Friends group, and teaches yoga.
