Eric Athas is Deputy Editor, Newsroom Development and Support, at the New York Times, where he has worked since 2016. Previously, he spent nearly three years on the digital team at the Washington Post, and worked for five years as a digital news specialist and head of training at NPR. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (journalism and political science, ’08). His work has been published in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Fast Company, and Harvard’s Nieman Lab.
