Natasha Khan Kazi is an author and illustrator who was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of five. Raised in Chittagong, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, she now resides in Southern California with her family of picture book readers. Natasha’s debut picture book, Moon’s Ramadan (Versify/HarperCollins, 2023), was named a 2023 SLJ Best Picture Book and a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection. Her forthcoming works include Lulu in the Spotlight: A South Asian Wedding Story (Versify/HarperCollins, 2025) and Bela and Lily (Kokila/Penguin, 2025).

A former ELL student, Natasha credits picture books as her window into English and Western culture. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and has over 14 years of experience in storytelling, social media, and online community building. Natasha is the creator of IslamiMommy, a platform for Islamic education through arts and crafts, and Art With Miss Natasha, a hub for art lessons from a diverse perspective. 

Natasha’s creative work is rooted in empathy, diversity, and childhood joy. A 2021–2023 Highlights Foundation Muslim Storyteller Fellow, she continues to hone her creative craft alongside her passion for education.
